13 Free Ways to Promote Your Business
It is often difficult for small businesses with small budgets to promote themselves online. SEO and PPC campaigns can be disastrously expensive if you don't already have the expertise on site. Fortunately, Michael Gray has outlined 13 ways to promote your local business for free. Summarized, they are as follows:
1. Google Local
2. Google Coupons
3. Google Base
4. Yahoo Local
5. Get Reviews
6. YellowPages.com
7. Press Releases
8. Free Blog Promotion Tools
9. Free Directory Advertising
10. Create a Lens at Squidoo
11. LinkedIn
12. Email Signatures
13.Syndicate Your Content and Ideas
Of these, I find e-mail signatures and YellowPages.com the most self-evident. Mind you, it's for that reason that they are probably commonly overlooked. While small business owners might procrastinate creating that e-mail signature, they might just as likely overlook how a link on a high traffic site such as Yellow Pages would be valuable--although less so now that the NoFollow tag is being pushed by Google.
