Even Gmail Advertises!!!

A recent move by Google demonstrates that even if you control a major advertising network, it still pays to advertise your products and services. It seems that advertisements for Google's famous Gmail have been turning up. As zzOnline Marketing reports:

Google are finally starting to push their free email product, Gmail after an initial “buzz” period. Their strategy was excellently executed from the word go; make the service exclusive by only allowing people to join by invitation, make the storage size larger than everyone else is offering (2.8GB and growing!), build the hype and buzz and then finally release it to the world!

Here are some of the signs that Google are now trying to really push their Gmail product and dominate yet another part of the internet:

Of course, despite Google having pioneered this kind of web-based e-mail service, that does not mean that they can't benefit some publicity. Basically, both Yahoo! and MSN have offered e-mail for years, so even though Google was the on to up-the-ante and the other two merely followed their lead, the other two already had a much larger user-base. As the report card below (originally published by Techcrunch) reveals, both MSN and Yahoo! are leading Gmail by leaps and bounds in terms of registered users.
