Blog or Die
So I came across a 1938 Media video in a post on Grey Wolf's blog and it got me thinking about the whole blog bubble. Anyways, this is what I came up with...

Blogging isn't dead by a long shot, but for people or organizations who aren't really committed to blogging, there's no need to start. We don't need any more half assed blogs any more than we need punky brewster remakes, there's just no value add. In fact if you aren't going to "do it right" your better off creating and MFA scraper blog more profitable and less work.
Hey Chris are you going to SES NY? If you are be sure say hi.

Wow, you're totally off. Even if that was true, you're about 3 years too soon. How many power supply blogs do you see now? Not very many. Take a look around at the blogosphere, even in online marketing there are giant opportunities to grow readership and gain marketshare / trust. I build 5 blogs a week (and that number is going up) and I see many companies increase their online leads by 5 times, that's a lot more then just "not losing anything". Get over yourself.

Whoa, guys, I said that it's about to burst, and that if you're not blogging, you better start. So I'm with you there, Solomon.
Michael, I know you disagree with me, but let me clarify: I agree that there are too many crap blogs out there, but that's my opinion as a consumer/user/reader. In all good conscious, I could never advise anyone to not blog. In fact, in my vid, I was all like "you have to start blogging because the bubble is about to burst."
I don't want to any more crap blogs out there any more than you do, but I'll let the market decides what sucks. If someone's blog sucks (as per your guidelines in your video) and they don't pull up their socks in time, I'm pretty sure that they'll give it up after a while because they'll have no traffic. Sure, some people will be too stubborn to do so, but if they're not getting any traffic, they're not wasting your time or mine, so who cares?
