Facebook -- The Next Big Brother?

There's a lot of buzz around Facebook these days. Muhammad Saleem has some good coverage on the Facebook Platform. Mitch Joel is agog over his birthday experience on the social network. And finally, just last week, Three Minds at Organic observed that a whopping 11% of the population of the Greater Toronto Area is using the social networking site.

All in all, Facebook is turning into a greater online marketing tool than MySpace could've ever been. After all, it encourages you to use your real name, maps your relationships with other people, and pretty much free of all the pimped out clutter that MySpace profiles got bogged down in. Well, it's possible that there might be a lot more than marketing motives behind the social network. This video on its policies and history are reminiscent of the Google Master Plan video, and might make it seem worse because Facebook doesn't even try to appear as though it does no evil.

Sorry, I couldn't find a copy of it on any of the video sharing sites, so you'll just have to click on the image below, and it'll take you to the original site.
