Making Video Viral: WatchMojo Relaunches
If there's anything that my vlogging here and on my new media blog tells you, it's that I love video. The reason that I love video is that if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a moving picture that speaks has to be worth a billion words (that one thousand cubed).
One of the reason I was so readily able to make video part of the SearchAnyway branding strategy is that before I joined the SearchAnyway team, however, I had done a considerable amount of work with WatchMojo.com and, as a result, developed a relatively extensivevidoe portfolio. Well, the guys over at WatchMojo have just relaunched their site. As the press release states:
Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) August 22, 2007 -- It was a matter of time, really. Eighteen months after launching with five original video clips on January 23, 2006, http://www.WatchMojo.com relaunched this week on a new design, user interface and content management system. Today, the site boasts 4,000 original video clips and its syndication network reaches over 95% of the Web's video viewing audiences.
In addition to improving the user experience and implementing a more robust content management system (CMS), the relaunch accelerates WatchMojo.com's viral marketing and distribution efforts considerably.
One of the key components of WatchMojo accelerating their viral marketing and distribution efforts considerably is that they've adopted a new media player that now has an embed option. Given how WatchMojo focuses on quality production content, rather than a more ad hoc UGC model, I won't be surprised if these clips start popping up all over the web. After all, users really only care about that content which they can easily share with others. Now that WatchMojo lets them do that, I imagine that their audience will grow considerably.
Anyways, speaking of their content now being embeddable, here's the first installment of a video series on RFID technology that I did for WatchMojo last summer. There are links below that will take you to the subsequent installments. I hope that you enjoy...
