Video Blogging Advice Abounds
Here's a clip on why early vlogging adapters will get the worm that was produced by Social Media Systems. We actually reviewed their blog a little while back when they gave us some kudos. I counted about 8 reasons why Solomon suggests that webmasters and bloggers adapt video as soon as possible. Summarized, they are as follows:
- The web evolves and video is one direction where it's headed.
- Video is affordable.
- Users spend more time on your site.
- Video increases conversions.
- Soon, everyone is going to be doing it.
- It's great for ranking on a Universal Seach
- Video is an additional promotional outlet -- think branding, viral marketing, advertising, and social media.
- It's extremely user friendly.
If I missed any in there, drop me a line in comment section of this post.
And if you're into learning more about vlogging, I've taken my wisdom beyond the SearchAnyway Vlog posts and my personal vlog, and have joined the BloggingTips.com roster as a vlogging columnist. My column runs every Friday, and it manifest along the line of an unadulterated how to format. For example, my inaugural post, 5 Vlogging Basics advised readers to:
- Keep it Short & Sweet
- Move & Express Yourself
- Enunciate
- Include Video Enclosures
- Submit Your Feed to iTunes
All of these points were, of course, rather rudimentary, but I suppose that that's appropriate for an inaugural post on a how-to blog. Besides, there's a method to my madness, and if you read into the original post, you'll see that even the simplest pieces of advice have some not-so-self-evident reasons behind them. My follow-up columns have been Showmanship in Vlogging and Video Hosting: Where Vloggers Should Upload.
That being said, here's a blast from the SearchAnyway video blogging past. It's called What v-Blogging is Good For and I shot it after some anti-video comments from Tamar Weinberg made me feeling defensive, and compelled me to stand up for video bloggers everywhere. Enjoy...
