RSS Feeds and Readers
What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML file used to syndicate online news articles, blog posts, images, podcasts and even video from multiple websites.
How does it work?
RSS-enabled websites and blogs provide what is called an RSS feed. By subscribing to an RSS feed you can be notified whenever a website or blog has been updated with new content in real-time. In order to read your RSS feeds you'll require an RSS reader (also known as an aggregator). An RSS reader allows you to view the latest headlines from syndicated sites all in one browser.
Do I have to pay for an RSS reader?
No. There are free readers available online such as Bloglines, My Yahoo and Google Reader. Other inexpensive readers can be purchased as well.
